Knitting

During this Summer I got a little bored. Because I believe in being a life-long learner, I signed myself up for knitting class.

Why knitting? Seemed fun and it's a skill I can carry with me through out life.

Our class project is making a felted tote. At first, I thought making a bag is a horrible first project. I ripped stuff out dozens of times...at time the project got a little frustrating. But once I found a good rhythm and realized all my mistakes are going to be felted--it's all fun. I am excited/nervous to see the finished project.

I ordered yarn for the following...
  • simple scarf with chunky ribbing. Pretty simple pattern, but I hope to make the scarf in all sorts of pretty colors and even styles.
  • another felted tote using the same pattern noted above
  • a Jayne Cobb hat. Jayne Cobb is a character on Flyfire (an old tv show). The hat is in those colors and those colors only. My husband and bro-in-law watched it as a kid. My BIL goes to college in Marquette, MI aka most northern part of Michigan. So I guess it's only fitting (very punny) that I make it for him.
All the above are very simple. But pretty excited to knit things I can either use or wear.
