Today was one of those days where I thought about everything, including where my peanut butter came from.

Today, I had the lovely decision of buying all-natural peanut butter from a national company or non-organic/natural peanut butter from a small company HQed in Detroit.
Guess what brand I bought?

I'm not really sure if you all know about the situation in Detroit.
It's pretty ugly. Check out this, too.

First of all, you must know:
I feel proud to be a Michigander. We've been through alot.
Our state government may (or may not) have made the right moves. But there's still pride in me.
Once in a great while, I'll drive past an old GM stamping plant. The plant closed years ago. I'm proud of the people that worked there.

I feel proud of my purchase. It's just peanut butter. Even if the peanuts are grown in Georgia and distribute centers in different states, the company still pays taxes, right? It gives me a feelin' that I did something for the economy of my state.

So, I guess what I'm trying to say through all of this...
Small things matter. Like purchasing a Michigan/your state product.
Take one of the team. (I feel better eating all natural, but feel even better knowing I helped my state out).
It's important to feel proud of your state, no matter who you're Governor is.
