Not really sure how to label this entry. But I think I've come up with some pretty good (and mostly weird) uses for everyday things.
Let's start with plastic wrap. You know that stuff you wrap leftovers in? Yeah, that stuff!
I like to use odor absorbing gels (not that brand or scent, but you get the picture) because...
1) they are cheaper than other types of air fresheners.
2) More subtle scented than other types of air fresheners
3) aerosol free! I find breathing in aerosol air fresheners to be a little unhealthy
4) pet friendly. My kitty isn't going to breath in the chemicals.
But even the subtle scents are too scent-y for me. While most odor absorbing gels come with type of quality seal (a Styrofoam like disk, perhaps)...I tend to lose these. So, I take a piece of plastic, rubber brand it around the container and poke holes with scissors or a pen. Yes, I know about the cones types. But they don't last as long as the container types as they are too small.
Aluminum foil.
I love my candle warmer for reasons stated above. Plus its a little safer than leaving a candle burning. While there is some hoopla about glass cracking when heated, I find Walmart candle handlers pretty heat-resistant. Plus I find it A LOT safer than lighting a candle burner with my cats around. If the wax is spilled, just let it cool off and lift it off your counter. Yes, burns are a concern, but I mean that's better than the risk of a house fire. Anyway! I love my candle warmer but sometimes a candle's scent can be too much. I don't want to turn the warm off because I just don't! So, I take a piece of aluminum foil and cover the top of the candle. Then I poke holes in the tin. Viola! The scent of the candle is masked a little bit, so it's not so strong.
