Making of Louis Vuitton Shoes

Once upon a time I watched a Discovery tv special. This particular tv special was about the making of a specific brand and model of a coat. Most of the work was done by hand. By watching this special I found out that a lot of US clothing factories have Asian workers--particularly that of sewing machine operators.

The #1 reason why? China still teaches sewing in Home Economics class. As the older baby boomers are retiring (the ones who were taught sewing in Home Econ.) there's no younger [skilled] American workers to replace them. So, companies will recruit Asians, or even move to Asia. So. And then we can get into lack of labor laws overseas and so forth. But we'll save that for another day.

The following is a video of a Louis Vuitton worker and/or workers making a loafer. The factory is locate in Italy. Unsure if this justifies the price of 'um. But sure gives me a deeper appreciation for clothing.
