"health" food

I'll be forever be debating myself on this topic.

For the fun of it, I bought egg whites in a carton (eg Egg Beaters brand) and lactose-free milk.  And quite, frankly I'm scared to eat them.

Both foods are deemed, "healthy".  Really?
Eggs with an "best by" date of May, 2012 (4 months from now) is healthy?
Milk with an expiration date of April is healthy?

I did eat/drink both foods for breakfast. The eggs were ok, but I'd rather eat a "real" egg  and go for a walk later. The milk tasted nasty. I do know both foods are contain real eggs and real milk. But my problem is the way they changed something so beautiful and natural and organic and made it into a product that's "healthy". What's wrong with an all-natural egg*?

There's nothing more healthier than an organic, all-natural egg.
(I'm not going to comment on the milk because I believe we humans, aren't suppose to be drinking Holstein cow milk. But we'll save that for later. The history of the Holstein is a good one) .

From Michael Pollan,
"Don't eat anything in capable of rotting"
"Don't eat anything your great-grandmother wouldn't recognize as food"

*provided it's organic/veggie fed/humane raised hen
