Purex 3-In-1 Laundry Sheets

The Purex 3 In 1 laundry sheets received an Edison Award for "best new product of the year." In concept, the sheets are definitely an innovative way to do laundry. No more measuring, hauling large bottles/boxes. Awesome, great. Oh, look I have a $3 off coupon...let's try it! I have used the sheets for a while now, so I think it's safe to review it.

The sheets are really easy to use. Throw one into the washer basin/basket, put clothes in, adjust water, blah blah blah. And the product does its "magic." Since the product conditions/softens and acts as a dryer sheet (all in one), the only big worry is that you have to remember to transfer the sheet to the dryer. But I really have bigger worries in life, I suppose. But is the convenience perk enough to "save" this product?

Me being me, the first thing I do/notice is the smell. This product reeks of spring oasis. This spring oasis can be easily smelled 1 or more miles away. Purex could have chosen a scent that can easily be mimicked (into a chemical). In the washing machine (process) is easily transferred onto clothing. Thus, your clothing smells...well...like fakey spring oasis that can be smelled for miles. The product loses a star for the smell factor.

Unlike the Downy bar, this product does really well in protecting against static. The product cleans average. Maybe it's my hard water, but the feel of my clothes are a little...mmm, off? Plus the smell makes me think my clothes are dirty. Annnd the product makes my skin break out (perhaps, the product loses another star?).

All-in-all, I would rate this product 3 stars. The convenience is great for smell spaces etc. But the smell and the chemical residue needs a little tweaking. I think the Purex Co. has something on their hands..
