As a person of frugality, I love the month or so after Christmas. We all know stores need to get rid of excess holiday season inventory...and how do stores get rid of inventory? SALES and CLEARANCES!
None of the things below are really, truly holiday related. But stores know people are broke after spending, spending AND spending during the holiday season. Stores have sales during the month of January. Should say, "sales." The mark up on some items is really ridiculous***.
As far as the deals I scored, this week was unbelievable. I have no idea where to start.
Target:
240 Bounce Dryer Sheets for $7.99. I did do some math afterwards, the previous brand I bought (Walmart) was cheaper/unit. But come on, it's Bounce dryer sheets! Make sure to check out my Bounce Dryer Bar review.
Caldrea dish soap, hand soap and kitchen counter cleaner (in Herbs of Provence scent). All three cost $10. Originally, $20 for the set. For those unfamiliar with the Caldrea brand: Click Here.
36# of Tidy Cats Cat Litter for $9.99. Originally, $12-13. Target had this on sale for $10.99. Me being me, I had a $1 off coupon. I made sure to get the bonus package, too! 3# free! Make sure to check out my Tidy Cats Litter review.
Meijer:
Nestle Limited Edition Mint and Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips for (get this..) $.66 per bag. Originally, $3/bag. Right now, there are 6 bags of these chips in my baking cupboard. For the record, I only bake with Nestle baking chips.
I made these last night. OMG, talk about heaven in cookie form. I whirled some roasted peanuts in the food processor and added them in. I also used chunky peanut butter and milk chocolate chips. So, so, SO good.
***this article prompted me to contact our cable provider, begging them to give us a better offer. Because if text messaging services have a huge mark up. Think about cable and other entertainment things.
EDIT: I realized I misspelled bargain in the title. HAHA It's fixed now.
