A storm.

Since my cake decorating instructor says, "practice, practice, practice," I made some cupcakes yesterday. Sometime today, I'm going to break out that pastry bag and just practice...making borders and just getting a feel for everything.

Some of you may be asking, how's school going? Lately, everything feels like a big whirlwind of activity. I have class M-Thurs 8am-12noon. Then work Tues-Friday (thankfully, on campus) 5-9ish pm. I wrote an email to a few of my family members. I think it describes how everything is going....
School is going well. Cost and Controls is all about accounting and a making P&L statement. So many formulas to memorize! But I love the professor and algebra (there's a lot of letters and figuring out what X stands for in this class :) ) It's all good. One of these days we're having a banker from 5/3 come in to talk about small business loans and what it takes to get one.

My marketing class is ok. We're talking about marketing techniques Chipotle Grill uses and will be talking about Starbucks next week. The professor is really lame.

My cake decorating class is so much fun. The instructor was pastry chef of the year probably 5 years ago. My final project is to decorate a 8" round cake and also do a 1/4 sheet cake. :/ Well, I least I have something to do over the weekend (practice cake decorating).

Yesterday was Friday...which means I went grocery shopping. I really should make meal plans according to what's on sale. But I am a one of those picky eaters. In the past, I've made stuff I didn't like. So, now it's about getting what I really want...I am absolutely ok with eating the same thing for lunch and dinner 5 days in a row. Lately, I'll buy a bunch of lean beef and make cheeseburgers :) . Or something quick.

  1. I like the change in your blog! I agree with you about really eating what you want. You can buy quality over quantity??
