Am I jinxed?

This week has been horrible. Not only did my hearing aid break, but I experienced some amazingly bad customer service.

1) II have patiently waited for my new hearing aids. I did research on them and hyped myself up. I made an appointment with my audiologist, who knows me well, to talk about expectations of my new hearing aids. I went to my appointment...only to NOT find my audiologist there. But another (nice) lady who works there. Was I promised a meeting with MY audiologist? The person who knows my hearing needs more than anybody in that office? Anyway, lady decided to order my hearing aids that day.

1.5) Day after my appointment, I called the office to make sure everything was good...aids ordered etc. I don't really know hearing aid offices work, but they found the exact make and model of hearing aids I need in storage. It's really kinda of exciting to know that your hearing aids are in your town.
"Ok, when can I pick them up?" "Well, nobody is here to fit and program them. I am trying to figure that out...like find somebody. So, maybe next week."
I told my hearing aid broke and it's kinda a urgent matter. I almost feel like they don't know what to do with me...I am young and not really their target audience. Ya know?

2) OMG. This experience totally deserved "worst customer service in the world."
Kmart had a particular garment rack on sale. Just so happens I need one for my front pouch/entry way.
While checking out and paying for my items I never received a smile or a hello from the cashier. Maybe I am over analyzing things, but as a person who is majoring in hospitality, I notices this kind of stuff.
After I packed my purchases into my car, I looked at my receipt and noticed the garment rack rang up higher than I was expecting. I went inside and told an associate about "being on sale, didn't ring up right." She started to get all my face. "Go show so and so that this product is on sale."
So, I went with another associate and showed her the item and clearance signage. Apparently, I got the wrong item because the signage was a little confusing. "Oh, YOU did get the wrong product," as she smirked.

  1. No...you are not jinxed! People can be rude and it's getting worse. I had the same experience at Kmart years ago and I'll never forget it. But, how would you like to be working at Kmart?
I hope you stay excited about those hearing aides.
