Call me old "old fashioned," but I love sending things to people via snail mail. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction then slowly addressing an envelope.
(by things: pretty anything and everything. Greeting cards, cookies, the thing you bought from me off of Ebay...)
A few Christmas's ago, I got some monies. (insert long ominousness pause)

With part of that money, I decided to special order some stationary/flat cards with my name on the top. So far, I've only sent a small friction of these cards out. Probably because I like send out these cards to special people that deserve a thank you or "just because I want to say hi and it's been so long since I sent anybody one of these cards that, tag! you're it!"

Good "drugstore" greeting cards are hard to come by. So, I'm at the store trying to pick out an appropriate card--but there's really nothing. When I see a good card, I buy it and put in to my little collection.

Since the USPS requires a stamp on all things mailed...I have a collection of those too. Right now I have:
Go Green! stamps, Owney the Postal Dog (personal fav.) and the Liberty Bell.
Go Green and Owney are limited edition, so I stock up.

I'm not really sure where/how I got into this "habit." My parent's never really required me to send out thank yous. It's mostly a mystery.

Ps. I used to have a special writing pen. I do have particular favorite brand of ink pen for writing and another for signatures. When it comes time to sign the card, I don't switch pens. The nature of my job (the one I'm paid to do) requires I sign checks and other paperwork. For the record, my favorite writing pen is Bic Round Stic click-ster. Favorite signature: Pilot Easy Touch.

  2. I love that you send thank you s.It is a lost courtesy in our world today. The world would be better if every one took time to really thank rather than just mumble something a the time and call it good.
