Starbucks VIA Brew

Starbucks owns my soul.
I love iced coffee. So I thought I would give the Starbucks VIA Cold Brew a whirl.

Just like other VIA Brew flavors, you just add water....but cold brew is specially formulated for cold water. I never really had an appreciation for coffee that comes in little packets. (By the way, according to Starbucks' website VIA brew is NOT "instant coffee." So, it's coffee in little packets...?) Honestly, it's almost degrading...coffee is meant to be a luxury and enjoyed. Coffee in little packets says to me that I can enjoy coffee on the fly. Shameful.

I love iced coffee too much to let "coffee in little packets" factor get in the way.

Just like other VIA Brew flavors, you take 16oz of water...if using regular VIA ya use hot water,, for cold brew you use cold water...and add the coffee packet.

The coffee was actually pretty good. The flavor exceeded my exceptions. Cold Brew is only available "lightly sweetened." The nice thing is the "sweet" comes from real cane sugar and not chemicals. But a little too sweet to drink first thing in the mourning. I would definately appreciate unsweetened decaf coffee...decaf for my caffeine sensitivity.

I like this product. I would LOVE it if Starbucks rolled out with unsweet, decafe VIA brew.

ALSO, Starbucks came out with whole bean (or ground) cold brew coffee. "The same they/we use in our stores." I might just have to get a coffee maker to try it out.
