If my sister gives you an opinion or suggestive about coffee, you better take it. Maybe its because she's sister or she loves coffee and has worked and hung around some of the best coffee places in the world (think Intelligentsia and smaller mom and pop coffee shops within Chicago-land). Anyway....my sister pointed the correct way to make iced coffee. It's so much better than what I told you. Seriously. I added comments in () for the heck of it.
Step 1: Prepare coffee as you normally would. Use double the coffee grinds.
(Why double? The same food can taste different when hot and when its cold. Coffee is one of those foods)
Step 2: Brew using your favorite method.
(notice the change: brew normally and NOT over ice. As the ice can shock the hot coffee, changing its flavor...for the worse. It will turn out bitter).
Step 3: Put the hot/warm coffee in a glass container or something of the like. Let it slowly chill in the refrigerator.
(Why glass? My personal opinion is the plastic tends to seep into the food and can make the food taste plastic-y...especially with liquids. Ball jars work great for iced coffee. You can add a cute little label and pretend you're in a coffee shop).
