Locked car keys INSIDE the car...story #2

Within the last year, I locked my keys INSIDE the car at least twice. Once last Fall and twice...is right now.

I left early to go to work so I could go to Meijer to get something to drink. Because I didn't have time to put my coat on at home, I threw it in the car. Once at Meijer, parked, turned off the car and threw the car keys in my purse on the passager seat. I got out of the car to put coat on. AND slam goes the door. Because I know from experience that my car is pick proof, I analyzed the situation and come up with two options...
  1. Go inside and beg customer service to let me use the phone...even though I don't know anybody's phone number by heart.
  2. Start walkin'.
I chose #2. It's great that my house is .5 mile or less from Meijer. Once I got home I was faced with another choice. Use a shovel to break the window or find an unlocked window and climb though.

Because I'm cheap, I didn't want to pay for a new window. I hope my neighbors don't report me or anything like that! And it is a good thing I bought Icy Hot the other month. My back hurts.

I am thankful for the guy who offered me a ride (which I politely declined. Who doesn't love an adventure? Walking on unplowed side walks and wind chill that's barely above zero...?) And my mom. Who is on her way to rescue me. I shouldn't be laughing. But years from now, it'll really be funny. Because really, who locks their keys inside the car twice within a year?

  1. Um I do. Ask dad. He never ever got mad at me either.
