There was a storm with high winds and lightening and other scary stuff.
This storm (lightening?, high winds?) struck a tree down on top of the power line that went from the road to our house. We got home from my birthday dinner to find the power in our drive way....flat as a pancake.
We had no electricity for about 24 hours, no biggie. BUT during the time we had no electricity our sub-pump failed us and flooded the basement.
Yeah, real cool.
And real stressful.

Here's that dryer ball tutorial I promised...
In case you're still not convinced that dryer balls can really replaced sheets, here's what I got to say:
Dryer balls separate the clothes--making them dry faster and less static.
To make your own, you need:
- ball of 100% wool yarn (blends and anything that's not 100% wool will not work!)
- nylon leggings or a nylon sock that lost its mat
I had a mish mash of wool yarn and just wanted to use it all up so mine are different colors. You might want to use a yarn that's neutral in color as it may bleed.
Step 1: wind your yarn into a ball the size of a tennis ball.
step 2: stuff the yarn ball(s) in the nylon
step 3: felt. There are a lot of ways to felt, but the easiest is via washing machine. The washing machine method only works if you have a top loader. The point of felting is to "weld" the yarn together using aggravation and heat. The front loaders don't create aggravation that's needed to properly felt.
If you are unfamillar with the felting process, Lion Brand Yarns has a great web page on felting here.
And viola!
