Learn to knit

Long time, no post.

Blame work and life in general.

In my spare time I like to knit. It's relaxing, plus the end result is (usually) something beautiful...like a cowl or dishcloth or whatever I decided to knit up.

Right now I'm working on Everyday Cowl by Lion Brand Yarn. IMHO, cowls are a great first project. I think the Everyday Cowl is great because it's in the round and Lion Brand is fairly inexpensive. The EC (everyday cowl) is knit with Heartland...an acrylic yarn. Heartland is great because it's softer and not so hard to work with compared to other acrylic fibers. (IMO, acrylic can feel a bit fake and not fun to knit with.)

Staci Perry and her "company" Very Pink Knits was (and still is) a very good tool in helping learn to knit. Link goes to her Youtube channel.

Also, child's "learn to knit" books are great too...big, overly simple pictures and words.

I started out making very simplistic things. For me, knitting is gratifying. Once you get past the frustrations, you'll enjoy it too!
Completed 15 rows of the EC cowl. Only a billion more.
