During the holidays, we can begin to see major sales at various retail outlets. Probably like most of you, I love these sales. I can get nice clothes for cheap. However, I can't always find my size. There's a little thing called...
seamstresses.
If you find a good local one--taking in sleeves or even shortening sleeves should cost no more then $20. Find a cute pea coat/jacket for 60% off? Sleeves too long? Oh, the beauty of seamstresses.
So, this holiday sale/clearance season, don't forget about your local seamstress.
PS I live in a community where the dry cleaner also does minor sewing/alterations. I can get the waist taken in AND get the pants dry cleaned.
agreed! also shoe repair people can really make old good quality shoes look like new.
