Baxter is a special kind of dog. He's a pure bred Wheaten Terrier. And he's my parent's dog.
Since my parents are presidents of their very own small business, they can pretty do whatever they want...like bring Baxter to the office/work. Since I am "doer of all good things" at this business, I'm Baxter's official dog-nanny. When I have him, I take him everywhere with me.
Baxter loves to play games. Like this one:
When Baxter has his leash on, he'll roll over onto his back. How cute, huh?
While on his back he'll tuck his paws . How adorable. (At this point I just roll my eyes).
The only way to make him get up is to 1) take his leash off. (Sometimes, this isn't always possible...like when we're in a store) 2) rub his belly and tell him what a good little boy he is. (If you understand terriers, you understand that they are hyper and can create a lot of mischief in a rather short amount of time).
So, I'll be in a parts store getting ready to leave. And Baxter flops onto his back. I don't even try to drag him out...he won't get up until he has belly rub and "good boy"s. Kinda cute and (a lot of) embarrassing when all this part's guys smile at you and your dog.

There's something else that I should point out about Baxter.
He gets mistaken for a poodle. Like..a lot.
Consider yourself informed.
A Standard poodle is the black dog. A Soft Coated Wheaten is well, the other. Notice the difference is muzzles and overall body structure. Poodles are retrievers, while terriers kill vermin.
ps I wanted to post these pictures for informational/informative purposes. Please know that both breeds are great and no one is superior than the other. Just wanted to point the differences between the two, so you can sound somewhat intelligent when talking to a Wheaten and/or Poodle owner.
A picture of Baxter. (opens in same window).

Love it! Thanks for pointing out the difference. They are not even close in personality or looks! I guess I should let Bax's hair grow out.
