(Andrew and I easily decided that is the world's best chili recipe/formula)
It's not so much a recipe, more like a formula. Adjust ingredients to your desire.
30oz Great Northern Beans (the brand in the glass jar with yellow and red logo is the best)
Bag of Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese or chucks from a block of said cheese
Shredded Cooked Chicken
Large Jar of Salsa
Diced Onion
Oyster Crackers for serving
Dump all ingredients into a slow cooker. Turn on. By the time you get home from work at 5...it's ready. Serve with oyster crackers. Also, Andrew and I like our chili thick and stewy...maybe next time I'll drain some liquid off the beans before mixing it with everything else.
Cornbread-Dad's Style
2 packages of Jiffy Cornbread Mix (and no, that other brand won't do)
Make cornbread according to directions, but double. Still use the same pan size and time requirement. Best served "Dad Style"....put a large cornbread square in a bowl. Pour milk over cornbread and sprinkle some sugar on it. I never had cornbread any other way.
Love it!!! Thanks honey.
