Sigh.
I tend to scribble the weekly "to-do's" on 8x5 index cards.
(bleach the garbage cans, call the insurance agency etc)
I find these cards in my purse, on my desk, on my dresser etc.
Sometimes the card on my desk has some of the same stuff on it as the list that's in my purse.
While I do have a weekly planner...but it's mostly academic and stays on my desk at all times.
I recently read something that's so mind blowing (for me anyway) and has helped me so, so much.
Along time ago, I got some free organizer e-book thing. Only recently have I really read it. In it, the author wrote that she had a similar problem to mine. SOO! She has a 3 ring binder with lined paper in it. She writes down her to-do list in there along with grocery shopping list etc. She leaves the binder in the kitchen for all to see. People can add stuff to the list and maybe do some stuff on the to-do list. The author said to use a system that works for you...a Moleskin journal, a calendar whatever.
For me the binder system works best. I usually make my lists while I'm laying in bed. The binder is carried off to bed, I wrote my stuff and the binder is put on the night side. The binder is steady (and big...to not get lost) enough so it can be carried back to the kitchen/dining area. Brilliant!
I think I should do that. I think I will. Learning from my kids.
