Seed Stitch Cowl

Seed stitch is so complicated looking yet it's super easy. Which is why I really, really, REALLY want to knit the Gap-tastic cowl

The only thing about about the Gap-tastic cowl is...working in the round and making sure the first row doesn't get/end up twisted. With 100+ stitches to not twist and mess up...NO THANKS! (I'll find another cowl to knit.)
The beautiful thing about this "pattern"...it's easy. Personally, it kinda looks similar to the Gap cowl, but only requires 41 stitches to join and not mess up. Which is something I am willing to do!

I have several pairs of size 13 circulars and not one of them are short enough. Being a person who likes to live clutter free (thus, unwilling to buy yet another pair of size 13 circulars), I decided to use my long size 13 straight needles and then seam it. Although, I am not even close to being done, I think that method will work out just fine. If you do do this project on straight needles, just remember that seed stitch is "knitting the purls and purling the knits."

Another great thing about this cowl is the fact it uses Lion brand Thick N Quick...an inexpensive yarn found at most big box craft stores. The pattern is entitled autumn orange, but Thick N Quick comes in a variety of colors...so, I can't see why we MUST knit this is autumn orange.

  1. I did a hat in seed stitch. Once you can figure out where you are you are ok>>
