I swear it's an art.
Some dogs/cats like to sleep at the very end of your bed. It's like these types of dog/cats get it. They get that a good rested human=everyone gets treated nicely.
Some dogs/cats like to sleep near your ankles. Really, kitty? I love you dearly, but please I'm stuck...on my back or stomach until I decide you're no longer being cute; thus, gently kick you off.
Some dogs/cats sleep vertically SMACK dab in the middle of the bed. (Kinda of like a divider between you and your spouse). Still ok, because I still have space to move...very little space, but space.
Sleeping horizontally is considered the worse. Seriously.
I mean my cat spraawls out. (Wonder what it's like with a 50 pound dog?) The 20 pound bugger takes up most of the bed! So you move him, right? Just as you are about to crawl back into bed...the cat magically reappears, only to go back into the horizontal sleeping position this time on top of you.
It's an art that I'll never master.
Keep trying. They are worth it, I think??
