Dear readers,
Please note that this blog is about "home"...finances, recipes, groceries and other related homey things.
Yours truly.
Onward to sharing a finance trick with you--
Since I started school a month or so ago I have found myself busy as ever. The school's campus is really my second home. I am there 12noon-9:30pm most days. If I am hungry I go to the school cafeteria and get a small Diet Coke and a $4 ham and cheese wrap...most days. (Do the math. It equals out to a ridiculous amount of reckless spending.)
Last night I figured out next semester's monthly tuition payments. Although we are going to "make it," it's (still) a little scary. I laid in bed thinking of ways to save money...I came up with the following "rules" for myself.
- No spending money on vending machines. No matter the situation. It's a $1.25 for 20oz of Diet Coke. And $.85 for a bag of chips.
- Limit spending on Food Services (cafe', cafeteria, deli etc) to $5/week. Considerable improvement to what I am doing now.
- No spending on things that will distance me/yourself from my/your spouse ie video games, whatever else. In the end, it's not really worth it.
