Pinterest Recipes that Actually Turned Out!

I joke with myself that most of the "pins" on pinterest.com never really turn out as the picture/instructions provided.

But here's some recipes I "pinned", made/baked and they actually turned out!

-Mason jar yogurt. If you think about it, the whole concept of [REAL!] yogurt is really simple and really disgusting. It's just milk and bacteria--simple and healthy and delicious. I made the above recipe using whole cow milk (but want to experiment with goat milk!) and some Mountain High yoghurt (for the bacteria part). I recommend making butter (I think I made a three part series, so look for all of the postings!) and yogurt at the same time--kind of the same ingredients and processes. BTW, I go through 1-64oz container of Mountain High yoghurt...a week. [Real yogurt--the way it's suppose to be, unflavored, not "strawberry" flavored, but real--is amazing.]

-Maple-almond granola. A nice, simple "starter" recipe. You can probably add toasted shredded coconut and other mix-ins along with the raisins. Best with raw, rough chopped whole almonds vs slivered almonds. Before I realized that DIY yogurt is so easy, I would have this granola a-stop Mt. High yoghurt every day for breakfast...starting weeks ago. BTW, maple season is almost here in Michigan. So you now have a reason to support/buy your local maple syrup stand.

-Blueberry-lemon muffins. The lemon-blueberry combo is divine! Can't wait for berry season here in Michigan. Next time, I wanna make these with fresh (frozen) berries.

-Homemade "chewy" trail mix bars. I used left over rice krispie cereal I've had in the pantry...for like..forever.  I just used 3 1/2 of rice krispie cereal. I'm sure you can use whatever rice-y cereal you have on hand, or whatever suits your dietary needs.
